YOSHI

a. k. a. Super Dragon Yoshi

Yoshi is Mario's dinosaur pet. Yoshi is not Mario's pet. Yoshi first appeared in Super Mario World. He was created by Shigefumi Hino because just after Shigeru Miyammoto finished Super Mario Bros. people wanted Mario to ride a dinosaur. Yoshi is the general name of the dinosaur species but coinceidentally it is also the name of everybody's favorite little dinosaur. Yoshi can swallow almost anything even if it is ten times his size. When he swallows it he turns it into an egg which can either be used as a weapon or hatch into a baby Yoshi. Yoshi has appeared in many games including Yoshi, Yoshi's Cookie, and Yoshi's Island to name a few. Yoshi is the Chairman of the Dinosaur Chamber of Commerce. Yoshi's are not only green but they can also be blue, light blue, brown, green, orange, pink, purple, red, yellow, black, and white.
